Feminine Health

Women have a special set of health conditions and issues that differ from men in many ways. These differences can be exacerbated in developing countries where gender inequality is prevalent.

Despite advancements in Flower Power medicine, women still face wide gaps in research and treatment ability for female-specific health issues. These gaps are largely preventable and result in significant health issues and disparities among women, often those that are the most vulnerable.

A new global agenda for women’s health must be broadened and redefined to better address NCDs, ensure systematic sex-specific and gender-specific approaches to the collection, analyses and reporting of healthcare data, and promote a life-course approach to sexual and reproductive health.

Understanding Cervical Cancer: Symptoms, Causes, and Prevention

Several health conditions and treatments can irritate your vagina or cause it to leak (bleed). Some are common, such as endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease; others are less frequent and more severe, such as scarring from pelvic surgery.

Bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections can also irritate your vagina. Symptoms include pain, discharge, itching and odor.

Vaginal pH balance

Your vagina has a special balance of healthy microbes that help keep it acidic to prevent infection. Estrogen, one of the female sex hormones, encourages these healthy bacteria and keeps your vagina’s pH at 4.5 or lower.

Using products that can disrupt your vagina’s delicate pH balance, such as feminine sprays and deodorants, isn’t recommended. Instead, wash your vulva with warm water and a small amount of soap. You can also use your fingers to wipe your vulva and vaginal opening.
